- Roasted and skinned peanuts - 1/2 cup
- Onion - 1 medium, sliced
- Garlic - 4 cloves
- Red chillies - 2
- Tamarind - 1/2 lemon sized
- Salt, to taste
- Sugar, a pinch
- Oil, 1 tbsp
- Heat oil, fry onions, garlic and red chillies until the onions are soft and slightly browned
- Add the peanuts, tamarind, salt and sugar and cook for another minute
- Blend together to make a fine paste
- Serve with hot dosa or idli
