Baked Pears

Ingredients:
- Ripe Pears (I used the Green ones, American variety) - 4
- Apple Juice - 1 cup
- Brown Sugar - 1/3 cup
- Butter - 1 tablespoon
- Cloves - 2
- Cinnamon - 1/2 inch piece
- Cinnamon powder 1 tsp


Method:
- Preheat the oven to 250 degrees C
- Cut the pears in halves and core them
- Place the pears in an oven proof dish
- Apply butter over the pears and then pour the apple juice over the pears
- Throw in the cloves and cinnamon piece into the dish
- Combine brown sugar and cinnamon powder in a bowl. Sprinkle this mixture generously over the pears and into the cores
- Bake for 45 minutes basting every 15 minutes
- Serve warm
