Ingredients:
Maida - 2 cups
Rava - 1 table spoon
Sugar - 1 tbsp
Salt to taste
Rice flour - 2 tbsps
Oil for deep frying
Method:
- Add maida, rava, salt and sugar. Knead the mixture with water (adding little by little) until you get a thick dough. The most important thing is to ensure that the dough is not soft and elastic like you make for rotis. So use little water while kneading.
- Make lemon sized balls of the dough. Spread the dough, apply a little rice flour on both sides. Make small sized pooris. The pooris should not be too thin.
- Deep fry pooris in hots oil for a minute turning over both sides until they are golden brown.
- Serve hot with any curry of your choice.
